working mom

every mom is a working mom...amen?

for some the work is almost exclusively done in the home and for others it's somewhere else.  for me it's both.  i guess you could say that i work part-time as a family pastor for our church and full-time as a family pastor in my home.  i know that equation doesn't seem to add up but fortunately i believe in an omnipotent God who operates outside of time and space constraints.

being a work-outside-of-the-home-mom is something i am hoping to explore further during this month of mommyhood.  it is a delicate balance that constantly needs monitoring.   

i absolutely love my 'job job'.  but sometimes i question how much is too much time and attention focused away from my family...  

...and then i have a sweet little interaction like this one that indicates we may be on the right track...

yesterday i asked lucy what she wanted to be when she grows up.  her response required no thought...

a mommy that takes care of her kids just like you

be still my heart. 

i hope this means she's getting enough of me.
