i'm leaving on a jetplane...

i always start missing my kids even before i leave them.  as they nap today i am thinking about friday when we will all be back together celebrating easter weekend as a family.  there will be eggs to stuff for our hunt with friends.  there will be a resurrection garden to assemble.  there will be stories of our savior to tell.  there will be new easter outfits to wear to simply say - 'this day is special to us.'  and there will certainly be lots of hugs and kisses and cuddling.


i will be looking forward to it all as i drop them off with grandparents and make my way to the airport tomorrow...  
and as i board my flight my focus will shift from the little people who consume most of my waking hours to the people across the ocean whom i haven't seen in nearly two years...


the people of haiti.

i know some people will probably think our idea of a 'vacation getaway' is slightly...well...weird...
but joey and i are taking our time away together in a village just north of port-au-prince where we first made some friends back in 2010.  we are part of a small team who will be scouting out opportunities for taking a larger group from our church this fall.  we will have the privilege of loving on the folks at mission of hope and being inspired by the amazing work they are doing there.  


i hope i will have some opportunities for blogging while i am away so please come back by to check in.  if your heart is prompted to pray for us...for safety as we travel, for our families while we are away, for the plans that we will make for future trips, for our eyes to be opened wide, and our hearts to feel fully...i would be so very grateful.
