a good start...

getting a headstart on the rest of my family completely changes the trajectory of my day...it makes the 6am wake-up totally worth it...

this morning it was ghirardelli chocolate coffee (mmmm...) + quiet time at the kitchen table with a view of our woods + don miller (well, not actually HIM but his book - a million miles in a thousand years - read it!) + jotting down some thoughts in my kids' journals (i'm keeping one for each of them) + jogging a couple of miles + picking these zinnias out of our garden (note our cool new backsplash ~ more on that later)...

...amazing what you can accomplish before 8am!  and once i got back home i was ready to have some fun with these two monkeys...

(yes...that's a potholder oliver is playing with...of all the bazillion toys...)

...some words i'm carrying around to ponder for the rest of the day...

'...these polar charges, these happy and sad things in life, are like colors God uses to draw the world...'
~ donald miller

I've been loving the zinnias my boys brought me from your garden last week! They have stayed beautiful!

They are both getting so big!! How adorable!! I know that Noah would rather have the remote control than any toy in the whole house...how does that work?!?!?!
